But the benefits are not limited to fresh air: thanks to the integrated heat exchanger, this model recovers heat energy from the exhaust air, thereby supporting heating. In addition, the unit is also easy to use for passive cooling.
Enthalpy moisture recovery heat exchanger
This is a special heat recovery exchanger that transfers not only heat but also moisture between the exhaust and supply air. The term enthalpy refers to the total energy content of the air → both thermal and latent (moisture).
How does it work? The heat exchanger is made of a water vapor permeable membrane, but one that is impermeable to bacteria and odors.
What does this enable? In winter – incoming cold and dry air is preheated and humidified by the exhaust air. In summer – incoming hot and humid air is cooled and partially dried, as some of the moisture is transferred to the drier exhaust air.
Advantages of the heat exchanger: Reduces dry air in winter – unlike a conventional heat exchanger, it also recovers moisture. Better comfort – fewer problems with dry eyes, skin, or mucous membranes. Energy savings – less need for humidifiers or dehumidifiers. Hygiene – modern membranes prevent the spread of odors, mold, and bacteria.
