ECOLIFE biotreatment plants operate through the activated sludge process. According to the pre-programmed operating cycles, the wastewater is aerated and continuously circulated inside the treatment plant to ensure the best possible treatment result. No separate bacteria need to be added to the biotreatment plant; the process starts automatically within 4–8 weeks after the treatment plant is put into use.

Taking the recommended water consumption into account, the BioC9 is suitable for a household of up to 9 people.

Infiltration system

It is also possible to install an infiltration system, which includes an infiltration system (2x16m), distribution well D250 (400x600mm), geotextile, ventilation and fittings. The price of the infiltration system is 490 € (not included in the price of the biotreatment plant).

More additional information about the biotreatment plant, technical data and installation can be found here.

Description

If you have chosen a biotreatment plant for local wastewater treatment, the necessary approvals must be obtained before construction begins. Contact the local government construction or environmental specialists
and define the next action plan. After receiving approval from the authorities for the local wastewater treatment solution, construction may begin.

The biotreatment plant set includes:

  • BioC9 biotreatment plant
  • Equipment well (includes air pump, pre-programmed air pump electrical and control automation, air hose installation kit)
  • Air hoses, connection parts for the biotreatment plant and equipment well

The BioC9 biotreatment plant body is made of high-density polyethylene PE-HD (PE100). All internal piping in the treatment plant is also plastic, and the individual metal connection parts are made of acid-resistant stainless steel (AISI316), which eliminates the risk of corrosion.

PE-HD is a material widely used in Estonia for the production of pressure pipes, tanks, septic tanks, sewer manholes, pumping stations and biotreatment plants. PE-HD is an inert material that is resistant to chemicals and does not release anything into the surrounding environment. Since the material can be welded, all connection points requiring watertightness and structural strength can be properly fused (welded) together, resulting in an absolutely watertight and long-lasting product. PE-HD is an extremely strong material, yet it also retains plastic properties, which makes the BioC5 resistant both to mechanical damage that may occur during installation and to later operation.

The BioC9 body is made of double-walled PE-HD pipe with a ring stiffness of at least SN2kN/m².
The equipment well is also made of PE-HD material; both the equipment well and the biotreatment plant connection parts are intended for underground installation.
